P.C.C.M. #112 Part 6 On The A.P.R.R. - The Freight Gets Delivered!!

Welcome to the conclusion of Penn Central Car Movement #112 on the A.P.R.R.!

Let's get right into the action...

1:87 Yardmaster NJ John has his daily meeting and advises the crew of today's moves...

Train RE-7 - Ideal Auto Parts via Rock Ridge East Yard
Train RC-4 Marcal and C&P Restaurant Supply

1:87 Engineer Dan is back in the yard. He'll work with 1:87 Engineer Kai to get some freight trains moving to make local deliveries...

AP GP 38-2 #303 has arrived at the yard. 1:87 Engineer Mark and his trusty conductor Jim will make the local for C&P and Marcal Paper...

Cars are being pulled in the yard...

There's Kai! Hope he didn't sleep in the cab or office overnight!!

The train is ready to go...

Mark will head out as train RC-4

NJ John gives him some final instructions...

...And off he goes...

Mark awaits the signal at the yard limit...

...And is on the way...!

First stop is Marcal...

Mark will need to take the secondary track at Little Jamaica to make his move. But first...

...A run around. Why? There's already a car at Marcal, so it's best to shove this car to Marcal at the south end of the building...

A move well executed...!

Mark now has the rest of his train and his next and last stop is C&P Restaurant Supply...

Another run around move...

Mark drops the 3 reefers from Birdseye via the NYCTL on track 1, which is a dedicated refrigerator/perishables track. All other box cars go on track 2...

A short time later Mark heads over to Rock Ridge East Yard where he'll pick up a large string of Auto Parts Box cars from the Ford Plant at Bedford, NY on the NYCTL to be loaded with auto parts and electronics to go back to Ford...

1:87 M&E Engineer Steve works with Mark to get this train moving...

Steve adds the caboose back on Mark's train....

Steve's job is done. Quick move and he still gets paid for a full day!!

Mark gets his orders from West Harold Tower operator Bill and heads out...

A short time later, Mark is at Ideal. Lots of cars for Ideal on this run...

AP Train RI-7 dropping empty auto parts cars at Ideal Auto Parts for loading to return to the Ford Motors Plant on the NYCTL...

The siding at Ideal can only handle 4 cars, so the rest will sit on the Little Jamaica secondary track. When the first set of cars are loaded, Ideal will call the APRR freight office to have the cars moved out and the empties brought in...

Mark is now back at CP South and checks in with Tower Operator Rich...

...A short time later arrives at the yard office. Mark earned his pay for today!

Dan is back on West Ladder track 1, commonly known as the engine track adjacent to the yard office. Now, where's Kai? Who knows. Hopefully he'll be back for our next PCCM!!

This concludes Penn Central Car Movement #112 on my railroad.

Don't forget to catch the inbound freight from my railroad on both Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. and PC Ralph's K.P.D. railroads!

Thanks for reading and watch for our next PCCM!!

P.C.C.M #112 Part 5 On The A.P.R.R. - Freight Sorted And Deliveries Started!

Welcome back to the continuation of Penn Central Car Movement #112 on the A.P.R.R.

Rock Ridge Yard had the night crew make some moves so the inbound freight can be sent out by today's crew.

Scheduled runs today as follows:
Train RI-2 - Coal Move to R.M.O. Electric
Train RE-4 - Rock Ridge East Yard Moves
Extra Train RHET-10 - Engine Terminal Hopper Cars
Train RR-1 - Rock Ridge Yard Industries

Rock Ridge AP SW1000 #110 has 1:87 JP at the throttle. He'll head over to the yard and pick up the loaded coal hoppers. Despite the excessive heat in the area, R.M.O. Electric starts the winter build up for coal. The price is right as well this time of the year...!

Once again 1:87 Engineer Kai pulls the cars that JP will pick up...

Tag team time!!

JP proceeds to pass the office of Rock Ridge Yard, under the watchful eye of 1:87 Yardmaster NJ John...

JP starts dropping the cars...

All of the inbound coal hoppers have been dropped on the 3 tracks servicing R.M.O. Electric. Nice work JP!!

Now, look who's at West Harold Tower! It's visiting Senior Engineer 1:87 Sir John at the throttle with his leased EB 8163 and caboose to make the move to the engine terminal! Good to see you 1:87 Sir John!!

Sir John drops the caboose...

Picks up his outbound train...

Adds the EB caboose...

Extra 8163 with visiting Senior Engineer 1:87 Sir John bring the loads to Richmond Hill Engine Terminal...

We turn our attention back to the yard, Kai is working to block the cars and send some freight out to get delivered...

We have a trio of B&M RBL box cars from Habitant Soup via the KPD to be delivered to ShopRite...

Looks like some cars need to be moved around a couple of box cars need to go to American Hardware from Walsh Steel on the NYCTL. Kai will get that squared away as both industries are on the same track, yet on opposite ends of the track...

Looks like Kai wants to drop these cars first...

Empire Belt box Cars dropped at American Hardware...

The EB Box car from International Paper on the KPD will go over to Marcal, probably tomorrow as Kai needs to get the yard freight delivered...

Kai has these B&M cars moving all over. Get them dropped off Kai!!

Kai enlists 1:87 Engineer Dan to help with this move. It requires a move to shove these south to ShopRite. So Dan will run these to the south end of the yard, pull them back to the track serving ShopRite and American Hardware, then shove them to the loading dock. There's enough track space so the engine won't back into the cars at American Hardware. Precision railroading at its best!!

Next move it do drop the Morton Salt car from Quaker on the NYCTL to Morton Salt's Rock Ridge facility to get loaded with more salt...

Dan pulls back to West Ladder track 1 to tie down for the day. Kai is still moving cars in the yard somewhere. We'll let NJ John find him. Too much for this reporter to start going where no reporter should be going!! 😊

We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow the AP crew will deliver the rest of the freight surrounding Rock Ridge Yard.

Don't forget to check out the inbound portion on both Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad
