P.C.C.M. #101 Part 7 On The A.P.R.R. - Last Of the Inbound Freight Gets Delivered

Welcome to the conclusion of the inbound portion of P.C.C.M. #101 on the A.P.R.R. The last of the freight from Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad will head out on today's train which serves the east side of Rock Ridge...

Penn Central SW1500 #9543 is still on the property, and 1:87 Engineer JP will work that engine...

AP GP38-2 #303 will have 1:87 Engineer Dan in the seat and his trusty conductor for today will be Jim. Dan knows the railroad quite well and I'm sure Jim will get the moves done efficiently and quickly!

JP pulls the caboose for this run off west ladder track 1...

JP will drop the caboose on the west ladder....

Let's watch the crews assemble AP train RE-3...

The freight is ready to go....

A quick stop at CP South Industrial Tower...

Dan awaits the signal...

AP train RE-3 heads out of Rock Ridge; however, he's being held as an inbound train takes priority...

Dan arrives at his first stop - Ideal Auto Parts. Their biggest customer - Ford Motor Co. Dan will need to pull the non-PCCM cars on the siding that will get sent to the Ford Plant in Mahwah, NJ before dropping his cars...

The moves are being made...

Dan spots the cars at Ideal...

Next stop is a little west of Ideal. Marcal Paper and Freihofer Bakeries are adjacent to each other, and both have outbound cars as well as some inbound...

I think we can tell what cookies will be made since we see a pair of Nestle reefers at Freihofers. By now we're pretty certain the cars are empty and will head back to the Nestle plant in Pennsylvania for more chocolate products...

Dan makes his moves...

And spots the 3 covered hoppers from Empire City...

The HRC box car will sit on the adjacent track and get unloaded as needed...

Now that Dan has made the moves, he has another stop to make. The auto parts box cars from Ideal have to go to the Ford Plant in Mahwah. The M&E has trackage rights up there, so Dan will drop the cars over by Rock Ridge East Yard, where the M&E will handle the move...

Dan drops the auto parts cars on the West Harold secondary so the M&E crew can grab them...

San heads back to Rock Ridge yard...

The M&E crew with 1:87 Engineer Steve and his trusty conductor Bob retrieve the auto parts cars for Ford...

A quick stop at the tower so they can be aligned for the move...

Steve & Bob spot the cars on the siding in Rock Ridge East Yard...

Dan and his train are at the yard limit and await clearance from 1:87 tower operator Rich...

And slowly heads in...

Dan is in the yard by CP Rock...

And parks his train on east ladder track 4...

Dan, is finished. Steve is finished. JP is finished. NJ John has released all crews, and with that...

It's a wrap for P.C.C.M. #101 on the A.P.R.R.!

The inbound freight from Rock Ridge can be seen on Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad

Until next time, thanks for reading!!

P.C.C.M. #101 Part 6 On The A.P.R.R. - Delivering Freight On The North Side Of Rock Ridge

Welcome back to the continuation of inbound portion of P.C.C.M. #101 on the A.P.R.R. Today we'll see the freight heading out to the industries on the north side of Rock Ridge...

Once again, Kai will work the pair of MP15 engines...

AP GP38-2 #307 with 1:87 engineer Matt will make this run...

AP #307 working the outbound freight with the yard crew...

JP will pull AP caboose #79 for the outbound local. This is the ONLY bay window caboose in the APRR fleet. It was painted by the crew at the Patti-O Paint Shop in Empire City under the direction of 1:1 Sir John....

And adds it to the end of the train...

AP #307 will head out at AP Train #RN-4...

A signal holds the train...

Matt has arrived at Shapeless Steel. There are a number of non-PCCM gondolas that will head out to other industries in the Philadelphia and Western New Jersey...

The caboose is cut...

And Matt pulls the outbound cars...

Then spots the inbound from Gervais Pipe...

Now on to C&P Restaurant Supply...

They'll cut away from the gondolas and then pull the outbound reefers from C&P...

The outbound reefers are added to the gondolas...

...And Matt drops the reefers...

Now that the inbound freight has been delivered, Matt can head back to the yard...

A quick stop at CP Little Jamaica for clearance to return to the yard. Matt needs the main in order to get home...

Matt is now ready to head to the yard as the moves have been made off the secondary and mainline tracks...

At the yard limits...

And now back in the yard...

With the engine moved to the engine track 2 on the east ladder, the crew can now inspect and classify the inbound cars...

Kai pulls the gondolas...

As well as the reefers...

The caboose will get parked on west ladder track 1, which is the track directly beyond the Rock Ridge Yard office...

Matt had one more move to make, and that was to retrieve the gondolas off the east ladder and drop them on east ladder track 4...

And Kai has tied down for the day. The jobs are completed and the crews are done for the day...

We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow we'll wrap up the last of the freight to be delivered to Ideal Auto Parts, Marcal and Freihofers.

Don't forget to follow the inbound freight moves on Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad
