P.C.C.M. #74 - Epilogue

While the latest P.C.C.M. is in the books on the Atlantic Pacific RR, there were a couple of out of state guests on the railroad.

The A.P.R.R. had a special day appearance for 1/87th John and 1/87th Ralph. 1/87th Neal, accompanied by the official 1/87th photographer Norman, were given a tour of the Richmond Hill Engine Terminal.

While 1/87th John has been advising the team, his responsibilities are back home on the N.Y.C.T.L.
1/87th Ralph, as well as 1/87th John were in for the day and of course, flown back on the A.P.R.R. Corporate Jet as Ralph needed to be back to oversee business on the K.P. & W.. John was dropped off after Ralph....

The guys were taken to Richmond Hill Engine Terminal aboard EB 8163, as they should be! A photo op is always in order and what better place to take them in the engine terminal! Norman is trying to get their attention by waving something that can only be thought of as a bottle of some soothing libation!

A walk on the turntable for a brief inspection, and of course another photo op!

The final photo opportunity of the visit is in front of the engine building with AP #303 in the first bay.

A quick ride back to the airport and the guys are on their way home...

This was a great P.C.C.M. by John and Ralph.

Keep checking back for more of our Penn Central Car Movements as well as new updates on the A.P.R.R.!!

Penn Central Car Movement #74 Part 5 - More Local Deliveries Outside Of Rock Ridge Yard

Welcome back to the Atlantic Pacific Railroad and Penn Central Car Movement #74! Today we’re going to deliver the rest of the freight that came from both John’s N.Y.C.T.L. and Ralph’s K.P.& W.
railroads.

Let's take a look at the work load for the crew at Rock Ridge today:

AP #110 is working with the crew to get the first train out of the yard...

AP #302 is called into service to make the run as Train RF-3

AP Train RF-3 departing Rock Ridge Yard

Here we see AP Train RF-3 heading over to Little Jamaica and Freihofers Bakeries

Train RF-3 making the moves to deliver the 3 freight cars

There are a couple of freight cars over at both Freihofer and Marcal which need to get taken back to the yard for outbound deliveries to other non-P.C.C.M. locations.

They'll drop the HRC Orange box car by Marcal as the covered hoppers take priority over the box car. Perishables always take priority on any delivery to a Rock Ridge consignee. Once the covered hoppers are emptied, they'll swap out the cars...

With moves completed, they'll head back to the yard...

The cars are dropped on the East ladder and the yard crew will sort the cars accordingly...

AP302 back on the East ladder. His job is completed...

AP 105 is on the move..

He's going to head up Train RC-4 for the run over to C&P Restaurant Supply..

After the drop off of the 7 cars, they head back to Rock Ridge Yard...

Meanwhile, back over in Rock Ridge... AP Train #RM-6 heads out to Mike's Lumber and Ideal Auto Parts...

As Train RM-6 heads out Train RC-4 arrives back at Rock Ridge...

First moves are over at Ideal Auto Parts..

Once the cars are spotted, the next stop is Mike's Lumber..

1/87th engineer Norman check in with the Little Jamaica Tower operator 1/87th NJ John for permission to proceed to Mike's Lumber...

The cars are spotted and they head back light with caboose in tow..

Now back at the yard, AP 105 is given another job. They work as AP Train RA-7, and shove a couple cars within the yard to American Hardware before heading over to Three Amigos Warehouse......

AP Train RA-7 heads over to Three Amigos to drop off one PC box car from IBM.

Back at the yard, the day is done!

This concludes the inbound portion of P.C.C.M.#74 on the Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

Penn Central Car Movement #74 Part 4 - Local Industry Deliveries West Of Rock Ridge Yard And More!

Welcome back to the Atlantic Pacific Railroad and Penn Central Car Movement #74! We have a number of trains being dispatched for some local deliveries today.

Here's the dispatch sheet for today..

We'll kick it off with a couple of deliveries just outside of Rock Ridge yard. First up is Train RC-1 with AP SW7 #110 and 1/87th Matt B at the throttle, he'll head over to Cargill. There's some expansion work being done, so a call was put out to Gervais Pipe in Empire City for some 20' pipes. The AP sent 3 of their 50' gondolas which came back as part of the inbound train from Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L.. A Hostess covered hopper from Hostess Bakeries in Empire City needed more grain, so they sent that as well..

Here we see the AP Train RC-1 with the delivery to Cargill...

The delivery is made, and they have one more job to do while at Cargill. A delivery of loaded coal cars need to be brought over to R.M.O. Electric. 6 cars came from the N.Y.C.T.L. and a pair came from the K.P. & W.

Now that the empties are pulled, AP #110 head back to Rock Ridge...

Meanwhile, AP Train RP-2 with AP MP15 #105 and 1/87th Engineer Steve and his trusy brakeman 1/87th Bob head over with the 8 loaded coal cars.

AP #900 with 1/87th Engineer JP at the throttle picks up the cars. Don't let this little GE 44 tonner engine fool you by its looks. She's got the pulling and pushing power to get these spotted at the power plant!

Here we see AP #900 doing what it does best, taking care of business!

Back over at Rock Ridge, EB #8163 needs to head over to the Richmond Hill Engine Terminal. However, there's two special folks here for the day as Sir 1/87th Neal has flown them in to show them around and to see the operations.

The train is back out of departure track "C" and heads over to the office at the north end of the yard.

Who is at the throttle? None other than the owner of EB 8163 than 1/87th Sir John of Georgia! He's brought with him another special guest, 1/87th PC Ralph who will take the ride in the EB caboose. They'll head over to the engine terminal where they'll be given a tour of the entire facility!

He gets the signal and now AP Train #RH-5 will head out to Richmond Hill Engine Terminal.

These guys open up the throttle and highball it out of Rock Ridge flying thru the Little Jamaica Interlocking. Next stop! Richmond Hill Engine Terminal!

We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow we'll continue delivering freight from both Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. and PC Ralph's K.P. & W. railroads!
