P.C.C.M. 53 Auto Racks / Auto Parts Op

Greetings followers of the Atlantic Pacific Railroad and the Penn Central Car Movements!

This is another special virtual op session where we combine some Penn Central and it's predecessors combined with some current rolling stock for a 'Time Traveler' virtual op session.

We start our op session with AP U28B engine #2360 heading over to Ideal Auto Parts. The demand for parts and supplies was so great that it took 6 freight cars to get all of the parts loaded for points east, west and beyond! This train will be designated RI-2.

Here we see the pull from Ideal Auto Parts heading back on the main. The 86' box cars will head to the Ford Plant in Empire City, the rest will head to other Ford plants throughout the system. Next stop; Millers Auto Rack Terminal!

A call is made to have a cut of Auto Rack cars pulled from Millers Auto Rack Terminal. This terminal serves car dealers in the region . A pair of CSX engines heads over there on the West Harold Secondary.

A quick stop for some orders by the tower operator of the day, and he'll pull a cut of cars off Auto Rack Track 1.

There'a always someone watching what goes on. From the view 1/87th Sir John, Senior Manager of the A.P.R.R. took a ride over as the cars going out are from a special customer near Rock Ridge.

The customer who does a great deal of importing and exporting of cars is Alan's Auto Sales. High end cars are his specialty, and from what I've been told, he personally checks  every car to make sure it meets his standards, or he wants it for himself!

The auto racks are ready to depart Millers Auto Terminal.

The cars are pulled and brought over to the West Harold Secondary where they'll be added to the train .

CSX #1177 passes awaiting Train RI-2 for his cars.

The auto racks will be blocked with the 86' auto parts cars for destinations on the N.Y.C.T.L.The rest of the cars will head to points west.

A quick pull of the 60' box cars and they'll be added to the rest of the train.

His work is done, CSX #1177 / 1153 head over to the offices by CP LT. It's a favorite spot for the crew as they're out of harms way...

The tracks are aligned for the main, and RI-2 makes it's move to the mainline tracks.  This train will head over to Selkirk where it will be interchanged for other railroads East and West...

Highballing out of town, AP train RI-2 and engine #2360 ratchet it up to notch 8 and head out of town!

Next up, arrival of a set of auto racks from the Ford Plant in Kentucky to Millers Auto Terminal

Be sure to check out the other participants in our Virtual Op movements.
