Welcome to 2021 and the Penn Central Car Movements! The P.C.C.M. series is entering its fifth year, of which I am proud to be part of for the past 2+ years. That being said, I tip my hat to Sir John and PC Ralph for bringing me into their world of virtual operations featuring the Penn Central and all of their private railroads!
So let's kick off P.C.C.M. #80 with some action! The outbound cars for each railroad are as follows:
For Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L.
6 Reefers from C&P Restaurant Supply to Nassau Community College with frozen food.** An ACFX Hostess covered hopper from Cargill to Hostess. A PC Hi-Cube from ShopRite to Terminal Warehouse with Paper Goods. USLX RBL Tropicana box car to A&P via the LIRR. Last is an EL 50' Plug Door Box car loaded (and I mean loaded to the rafters) of Freihofer cookies to Terminal Yard. This was to thank the N.Y.C.T.L. crew for their hard work when called for an emergency load of freight needed on the A.P.R.R. We never break a promise!
For PC Ralph and his K.P.D.
ACFX Morton Salt covered hopper for Cavendish Foods. a trio of empty B&M box cars from ShopRite which the KP&W will forward to the B&M for use elsewhere. A pair of PC gondolas from Shapeless Steel to Acme Auto Parts with steel stock.
AP 105 and AP 100 will be working the yard area. 1:87 NJ John on 100 and 1:87 Norman at the throttle on #105
AP 304 will be pulling freight from most of the industries with 1:87 Mark doing the runs with 1:87 Bob as his brakeman.
Mark heads over to the newly installed caboose track adjacent to the Richmond Hill Engine Terminal to pick up a caboose.
EB 8163 works this area exclusively as 1:87 Dan is in the seat. The installation of this track was critical in order to enhance the operations of the railroad.
As 304 departs the yard, their next stop will be at Little Jamaica and pick up freight to be dropped at Rock Ridge Freight Yard...
Let's watch the pull from C&P Restaurant Supply...
Next up are 3 non-virtual op Railbox cars needed over at Rock Ridge for an intra-layout move. More important is the EL 50' plug door box car for Terminal Yard. The train can't head out to the N.Y.C.T.L.without it!
KP&W #15638, a 40' box car will be brought over to American Hardware from Marcal empty to be used in a future P.C.C.M.
And now back to the yard...
Meanwhile, 1:87 Tower Operator Rich needs to send an engine over to Shapeless Steel as the Little Jamaica tower guy (who shall remain nameless) forgot to tell Mark about 2 cars over at Shapeless Steel! That's going to cost someone for the extra manpower time!
Let's watch the move back to Rock Ridge..
Now that the gondolas on west ladder track 3, some sorting of freight needs to be done...
AP 100 pulls the 4 cars from ShopRite and dropped on one of the east ladder tracks....
A quick run around the secondary to pick up the Hostess covered hopper..
We'll cut it here for now.
Next up will be to build the train heading out to Weehawken and beyond.
Thanks for reading!

A side note about Nassau community College. Back in the 70's, this college was affectionately referred to as 'Turnpike Tech' as it was off the Meadowbrook Parkway in Garden City. As I attended it in 74'-76', many if not most of the classes were held in Army barracks. Not the most glamorous, but they got the job done. No, I didn't get any desire or feelings to enlist in the military, and I my studies were successful (I have the diploma to prove it!).

Acknowledge work at local industries and at Rock Ridge Yard.
West Mill out.
Nice display of the official PC P.C.C.M. hat! I greatly appreciate mine! The debut of the new caboose track in a P.C.C.M. shows its utility! Shop Rite is looking good as a backdrop in photos! That was a lot of switching work in anticipation of the outbound trains and we railfans enjoyed every bit of it!
