P.C.C.M. 39M - Rock Ridge Yard at Work

Greetings followers of the P.C.C.M. Car movements. With the arrival of WR-1 from Weehawken to Rock Ridge Yard, the train is ready to be broken down and classified in the yard.

The yard crew is busy breaking down the train. Here we see a couple of the guys cutting the engines from WR-1 as the engines will head for servicing.

The crew has the signal and heads out ot Richmond Hill Engine Terminal for servicing.

PC engine #9543 is readied as for work and will pick up the coal cars destined for R.M.O. Electric

With PC #9543 on the front of the local, they'll take the coal cars and head out to R.M.O Electric and will be designated as RR-2, the R.M.O. Turn. Cars are cut from the rest of the train and will head out for today's job.

RR-2 has the signal, and we're on our way!
RR-2 has arrived at R.M.O. Electric, and will cut away from the train and let the switcher take over. There's a limit for the power plant, and while the A.P. R.R. delivers the loads, the tracks are owned by the electric company. A GE 44 Toner, owned by the A.P. and leased to the power plant takes over.

A.P.R.R. #900, which was recently acquired will pull the empties and shove in the loads. Today's job has a number of coal cars coming from Hudson Coal

The empties are pulled off all three tracks.

A.P. 900 drops the empties on the track outside the power plant and pulls out of the way so #9543 can pick up the empties and then spot the loaded coal cars in the plant.

PC #9543 hooks up to the empties and heads back to Rock Ridge. These empties will head back to Hudson Coal as the contract calls for coal on a regular basis.

A.P. #900 is back out of the plant, couples up to the loads, and proceeds to drill the plant.

Meanwhile, RR-2 is getting ready to head back into the yard,, but needs to shove back in. Crossing over at CP South, #9543 has the cross and is on the way in!

Shoving back in on the west ladder, the coal cars are assigned to a staging track and will head out on the next dispatch.

RR-2 is now in the yard, it's job is complete. Next up, freight for Tropicana and more!

  1. Well done Sir Neal! Looks like the R.M.O. power plant is well served by the PC and the local R.M.O. crew. The new SD45's are earning their keep with the increase in traffic on the A.P.R.R.

Well Done Sir Neal! PC #9543 and AP #900 are mighty fine looking engines and work perfectly in their roles. Very enjoyable installment with some nice photos of the layout, rolling stock and motive power.

  4. I like the light engine moves with the dwarf signals, the eye-level shots, and the rolling stock.
