We're going to start another 3 layout Penn Central Car Movement originating on my A.P.R.R, then on to Ralph's Kings Port Division K.P.D. and Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. N.Y.C.T.L.
And here we go!!
There was a lot of freight that was delivered to the A.P.R.R. in P.C.C.M. 39, which was desperately needed, especially by the R.M.O. Electric Co. These cars were quickly unloaded and need to head back to the N.Y.C.T.L. for more coal. We'll build the train in Rock Ridge with cars that will go Weehawken and then on to Selkrik where the K.P.D. will pick up the train, break it down for cars heading to the KP&W. and then send cars from the A.P.R.R. over to the N.Y.C.T.L. along with cars from the KP&W.
We head over to R.M.O. Electric and see A.P.R.R. #900 (GE 44 Toner leased to the R.M.O.Electric Co.) pulling the empties out of the building and storage tracks. #900 will set them on the secondary track to be picked up by the A.P.R.R.
A.P.R.R. #900 on the secondary dropping the empties for pickup.
All empties are dropped and #900 is back on the property.
Now that #900 is back on the property, The A.P.R.R. can dispatch A.P.R.R. #100, an SW15000 from Rock Ridge to pick up the empties.
Heading over to the north end of Rock Ridge Yard....
Down the west ladder....
And dropped off for additional cars to be added to make up the train...
Now that the empties are back in the yard, A.P.R.R. #100 has one more move to make within the yard, and that is to pull the Morton Salt Covered Hopper, loaded to the rafters with salt to Empire City Cargill plant on the N.Y.C.T.L. for further processing.
The cars will be blocked before they leave Rock Ridge Yard as Yardmaster Rich T. always make sure trains move quickly from point A to point B ( a real stickler here on the A.P.R.R.). Rich has been on a sabbatical, touring Europe via rail whenever the flights are cheap and his wife wants to get away from the rest of her family! Oh well...
That's all for now. Next up, pickups at Cargill, Marcal, Three Amigos and C&P Restaurant Supply.
Thanks for reading!

Nice start to the new series! I enjoyed watching #900 and #100 at work!
Agree, great start to the PCCM. Cool to see the coal empties gathered up to make the trip back to Hudson Coal. Looking forward to see the next installment.
ReplyDeleteThis is sure going to be a good op given the great start. Ditto Ralph's comment about the switchers. they look great in the mix.
