Arrival of Train AP-1 from Terminal Yard

This is a special event on the A.P.R.R. thanks to the artistic talent Sir 1:1 John R. has been given. As you know, the joint E.B.R.R. / A.P.R.R. project concluded it's second phase with the completion of eight Atlas 50' double door boxcars. Six cars are painted in A.P.R.R. colors and two are in E.B.R.R. colors. Two E.B.R.R. cars are numbered the same and two A.P.R.R. cars have the same numbers. These will be divided between 1:1 Sir John and myself for use in the virtual ops.

Arrival of Train AP-1 from Terminal Yard via West Mill & Selkirk to Rock Ridge Yard

We left off with Train AP-1 leaving Terminal Yard on John's N.Y.C.T.L. http://newyorkcentrallayout.blogspot.com/2017/11/ebrr-aprr-paint-project-conclusion.html
and then thru the dark of night on Ralph's  KPD thru West Mill http://kingsportdivision.blogspot.com/2017/11/pccm-41l-short-mountain-branch-train.html
When trains leave Selkirk, they usually make a stop for a crew change or change of motive power. Not this time. Orders are in place that train AP-1 head thru Weehawken and make a stop for all of the executives of the A.P.R.R. at Baskerville Jct, which is located on the outskirts of Rock Ridge Yard.

Approach signals are in place at West Harold and Little Jamaica due to the diverting route to Baskerville Jct.

Train AP-1 has arrived at Baskerville Jct. Sir Neal has gathered the entire executive crew to admire the newly arrived freight cars that once inspected, will immediately go into revenue service.

Sir 1:87th Neal, very proud, is telling everyone to carefully look at the freight cars as the train starts up and heads to Rock Ridge Yard...

Sir 1:87th John is on hand pointing out the new cars to the A.P.R.R. personnel..

Sir 1:87th John has pointed out the pride of the freight fleet: The new 86' 4 Door Box car that will be used exclusively between Ideal Auto Parts and the Ford Motor Plant in Empire City. He's very proud of the paint job his crew did for the A.P.R.R.

The train departed Baskerville Jct. and is arriving at Rock Ridge Yard.

Sir 1:87th Neal is meeting with Sir 1:87th Larry. Being the Chief  Conductor on the A.P.R.R., Sir 1:87th Larry will make sure the cars ready for revenue service and has briefed his crews about the new cars.

A very special 'THANK YOU SIR JOHN!' is in order as he's outdone himself on the paint jobs on all these cars. Look for these cars on future P.C.C.M. virtual operating sessions!

That's excellent! I like your use of pics of AP-1 on the N.Y.C.T.L. and my King Port Division! Nice job following the train and excellent work showing those cars arriving on you layout!

  3. Clearly a momentous day on the A.P.R.R. with the newest additions to the fleet. They look awesome and big kudos to Sir John and the NYCTL Patti-o paint shops for an outstanding job. All of these custom paint jobs add so much to the VO's.
