P.C.C.M. #61 wraps up on the APRR with the last two deliveries heading out of Rock Ridge Yard.
First destination will be a local running over to C&P Restaurant Supply. A cut of 3 EBRR cars came from Terminal Yard empty and they'll be loaded once the customers in Empire City phone in their orders. The NP freight car will be loaded with a variety of frozen meals for local distribution around Empire City restaurants and markets. The EL reefer will get some additional food supplies to be distributed to Ralph's Grocery and other fine establishments.
AP RS-1 #200 Spirit Of Jay will head out with the five cars. Engineer of the day is 1/87th Norman, who sheds his camera for this job. Norman is the official photographer of the APRR. His conductor for the run is 1/87th George, a new hire less than 2 years in training. If he survives with 1/87th Norman, he'll be fine!
Ready to leave the yard, 1/87th Norman will head out as train RP-3 and run to C&P Restaurant Supply.
An approach signal is given to the train as they'll cross over 2 main lines and run to the West Harold interlocking. Once thru the west end of the interlocking, he'll back up on to the West Harold Secondary.
Here's the move on to the West Harold Secondary..
A quick run around on the main and 1/87th Norman will get behind the cars. In order to get behind them, he will run light to the Little Jamaica Secondary, and pull the cars back a hundred yards, then shove them on to track 1 in the warehouse.
Now that 1/87th Norman is finished with his run, RP-3 will head back as RP-4 to complete the turn.
So what's left? Ideal Auto Parts has 3 Penn Central box cars from Bruce Electric located in Empire City. AP MP15 #105 is called to wrap up the freight from the N.Y.C.T.L.
The crew of the day will head out and pick up the 3 cars, spot them at Ideal Auto Parts and head back to the yard.
A caboose was added and the train will head out as RI-5, the Ideal Auto Parts Turn.
AP #105 will cross over two main line tracks and then shove back to Ideal.
The caboose will be cut and left on the main while the 3 cars are spotted at Ideal
A quick pick up of the caboose and the crew will head back to the yard.
Back in the yard, the caboose is set on the caboose track until needed for another job.
AP #105 back on its holding track, located at the southwest end of Rock Ridge Yard.
So what about PC 7675? They need to get serviced and the two PC covered hoppers loaded with sand are needed for the engine terminal. 1/87th NJ John will run the engines and both cars over to the terminal.
They move out as Extra 7675 and head into the sunset. The day is over for the crews of Rock Ridge Yard.
That wraps up my portion of P.C.C.M. #61. Make sure you check out Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L., along with PC Ralph's K.P. & W., as well as Brian's RCR Railroad.
Until next time!
