P.C.C.M. #80 Part 4 - Delivering Freight To The Consignees

Welcome back to the continuation of the inbound portion of Penn Central Car Movement #80, which has freight from the Ford Plant on Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. for Ideal Auto Parts and freight from Quality Fabrications, Canton Box, IBM and Blue Ribbon Flour on PC Ralph's Kings Port & Western Railroad

Let's begin with the road power for Ideal. AP 305 with 1:87 Engineer Matt along with 1:87 Conductor Jim
will move some freight to the newly opened Rock Ridge East Freight Yard as well as to Ideal Auto Parts.

AP #100 with 1:87 Norman on duty will move some freight cars for the road engines...

A pair of KP&W Box cars from Quality Fabrications will be dropped off at the new yard for a day. Once some other box cars are moved in and out of Ideal Auto Parts, they'll be brought over for unloading. ..

Looks like AP 305 has the cars to head out..

He's got the green signal...

Let's watch AP 305 head over to the newly opened Rock Ridge East Yard...

CP South 1:87 Tower Operator Rich give instructions to Norman for the job as routing and moves will be a little different than in the past...

1:87 Norman, a veteran of the railroad (And the Official AP Photographer) heads out...

He's routed over to Rock Ridge East Yard..

Let's watch AP 305 dropping off the KP&W Box Cars...

Now Norman will pull the cars for Ideal Auto Parts...

As AP 305 heads over to Ideal, a stop is made at Little Jamaica tower for some updates...

They proceed over to Ideal Auto Parts..

Cars are pulled, empties are dropped...

Here we see the wrap up at Ideal...

As they arrive back over at Rock Ridge East Yard, the loads are dropped off...

AP 305 will tie down for the day as they'll need to move the rest of the Auto Box cars over to Ideal the following day...

We now head back to Rock Ridge Freight Yard as AP 306 with 1:87 NJ John in the seat and Conductor Bob who will work Freihoefer Bakeries, C&P Restaurant Supply and Three Amigos Warehouse...

The cars are being readied for NJ John to pick up. 1:87 Matt will move the cars into position..

NJ John has the cars and proceeds to CP South Tower for the departure instructions...

First stop is Little Jamaica Interlocking. LV #41000 from Blue Ribbon Flour drops off bags of milled flour which will be used for those deliciously soft Chocolate Chip Cookies! Can you smell the chocolate??

Next stop is over to C&P Restaurant Supply and PC 360063 with packaging supplies...

A quick run around by Little Jamaica puts AP 306 in position to shove the box car on to C&P track 1...

Now the last drop for the crew is PC 160502 from IBM to Three Amigos Warehouse and Storage. A load of business machines. They're routed on the West Harold Secondary as they need to shove this car on the siding. Another run around is in order!

The car is dropped and they head back home...

They hold at the Rock Ridge Yard Limits. Moments later they are in the yard...

NJ John wraps up the job, gives the guys a wave and is off duty...

We'll hold it here for today...  Tomorrow we'll wrap up the freight for Cargill, Shapeless Steel, Mike Lumber and yet another car for Ideal!!

Thanks for reading!

    Terminal Yard out...

AP 305 and AP 306 get the job done today in fine fashion!!! IDEAL Auto Parts has their much needed empties as auto production is up around the country. Freihofer's can bake again with the delivery of LV 41000 and everything else is set up nicely for the remainder of the freight car moves. Well done!!!!!

I am honored to see two of the Kings Port & Western's cars be among the first to be sent to Rock Ridge East Yard in the new ops scheme! It looks like the yard expansion is working well! There were a lot of cars to move and the A.P.R.R. did it in style. The photo of the big auto parts cars at IDEAL really conveys a sense of heavy railroading. Nice work delivery cars to the numerous industries around Rock Ridge! Sure wish I could get my hands on some Freihoefers!
