P.C.C.M. #81 Part 4 - Inbound Trains Arriving From Terminal Yard and West Mill Via Weehawken!

Welcome back to the inbound portion of our Penn Central Car Movements! P.C.C.M. #81 is a three layout movement featuring freight from Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division HO Model Railroad.

There was quite a delay getting the inbound freight down the River Line. Seems there was some snow runoff near Fort Montgomery, NY, which delayed all trains. In addition, the train dispatched from West Mill with empty PC gondolas made a stop to pick up some coil loads from Albany Steel. They will be picked up at Rock Ridge Yard by equipment from Allied Steel. A two fer! No extra charges since 1:87 scale Sir Neal likes to take care of his friends...

We see 3 sets of trains waiting for the approach to Rock Ridge Yard. PC Extra 3007 is a hot train loaded with coal for R.M.O. Electric...

We see the signal for Little Jamaica is holding Extra 3007. To the right is the inbound train from Weehawken with freight from the K.P.D. To her right is the train from the N.Y.C.T.L.

The approach signal is given, and PC Extra 3007 heads over to Rock Ridge Yard....

Here we see PC Extra 3007 on the move....

PC Extra checks in with the crew at CP South. A wave from 1:87 scale Jim and Rich welcoming the crew from Selkirk to Rock Ridge. Jim tells the crew "Hey! Before you leave, don't forget to try the Chili over at Meet At Ralph's Diner before you head back!".

They pull in to Rock Ridge Yard arrival track "C" and tie down. They set off the caboose, gather their brakemen and head over to the diner. Hope they have a roll of TUMS...just in case!

Next train to approach Rock Ridge Yard is AP Train WR-3 with AP engines 2350 & 2340. GE units are mostly used for large freight trains coming out of Weehawken. 1:87 scale Steve is at the throttle for this run.

Let's watch AP train WR-3 get the approach to Rock Ridge Yard.....

AP Train WR-3 arrives at CP South. The guys are greeted by the usual suspects, and head into the yard down the west ladder...

Now AP train WR-5, with freight from the K.P.D. heading to Rock Ridge Yard...

AP train WR-5 is being held at CP South as the yard crew breaks down train WR-3...

AP #100 with 1:87 scale NJJohn starts the breakdown of AP train WR-3...

NJ John brings the caboose up the ladder and puts it on the end of AP 2340. Both engines and caboose will head over to the Richmond Hill Engine Terminal for service....

Let's watch AP train WR-3 as they depart Rock Ridge Yard for servicing...

AP train WR-5 gets the signal and heads into Rock Ridge Yard...

The crew starts to break down AP train WR-5.

ACFX Morton 26004  From Cavendish Foods to Morton Salt will get loaded and head back out on the next P.C.C.M. move...

NJ John is back by the office giving the all clear...

The trains have been sorted in the yard. AP train WR-5 with caboose in tow heads to the engine terminal for servicing....

We'll stop here for today. Tomorrow we'll watch the Rock Ridge Yard crew assemble trains headed to C&P Restaurant Supply, Ideal Auto Parts, ShopRite and more!

Stay tuned!

Acknowledge arrivals of Coal Extra #3007, APRR WR-3,and WR-5 at Rock Ridge.

    West Mill out.

Good to see trains moving on the APRR after the weather delay! Everything seems to be in order as three inbound trains arrive at Rock Ridge and are promptly broken down by a skilled yard crew. Will the engineer on #3007 be hearing about that signal error? I like the usual welcoming committee at the tower. Hopefully their recommendation to get chili at Ralph's diner will not cause them undue discomforts! Great looking big power on WR-3! Nice photo and video documentation of the APRR back in business!
