P.C.C.M. #88 Part 1 on the A.P.R.R. - Inbound trains to Weehawken

Hello everyone and it's good to be back to participate in our Penn Central Car Movements! For those of you who may not know, I took the railroad out of commission to enhance the signals on my layout. The details of what was upgraded can be read about it HERE.

This is an inbound P.C.C.M. with trains coming from Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. Railroad and PC Ralph's K.P.D. Railroad.

The N.Y.C.T.L. dispatched from Terminal Yard via Selkirk to Weehawken two trains. The first train is PC Extra 3180, a string of reefer cars with a final destination of C&P Restaurant Supply on the A.P.R.R. This train will change engines and crews and depart for Rock Ridge Yard. The second train is PC Extra 3175, a manifest train which will have an A.P.R.R. crew take the train to the yard. That train will be sorted in Rock Ridge Freight Yard, and delivered to its consignees. Extra 3180 arrived yesterday and Extra 3175 arrived this afternoon...

Here's both PC Extra 3180 and PC Extra 3175 in Weehawken Yard

There needs to be a change at Weehawken. AP engines GP38-2  303 and 304 are at the ready. The PC engines and their crews will go back to Terminal Yard after engine servicing and crew rest.

Empire Belt Engine #8163 is called in to swap out the PC cabooses from both trains and add AP cabooses in its place.

We see the pair of cabooses that will be added. What do we see here? A caboose that hasn't been in service for a while is now back in revenue service! AP #50 is back!!

AP Caboose #50 will be added to the train 3180 and AP Caboose #54 will be added to train 3175

The cabooses are pulled from both trains..

EB 8163 drops them off at the west end of Weehawken...

And now the AP cabooses are added to the outbound trains..

EB #8163 has completed its move and back in the west end of the yard...

Now for the engine swap. AP #303 will take the reefers up to Rock Ridge and then on to C&P Restaurant Supply.  AP #304 will take its train to Rock Ridge once #303 departs...

The PC engines are moved on adjacent tracks...

...And the AP engines are now on the front of each train...

As we see the trains are ready to depart,  AP #303 will head out as AP Train WRCP-1 to C&P Restaurant supply via Rock Ridge. AP #304 will head out to Rock Ridge Yard as AP Train WR-5...

Let's watch the trains depart Weehawken...

Next stop - Rock Ridge Freight Yard!!

Don't forget to check out the outbound portion of these trains sent to the A.P.R.R. from Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. Railroad and PC Ralph's K.P.D. Railroad.

Stop back tomorrow for the continuation of the inbound portion of P.C.C.M. #88 and the arrival of more trains from the N.Y.C.T.L. and K.P.D. to Weehawken and Rock Ridge Yard!!

    Terminal Yard out...

That was excellent!! The arrival of the PC Extra from Terminal Yard at Weehawken and the well done choreography of locomotive, caboose and crew changes was well done, cool to observe and added a nice touch of realism to the APRR-PC interchange. Well done Sir Neal!!!

Welcome back to the virtual ops Rock Ridge! I liked the photos and video of the two PC trains arriving and stopping next to each other to show off their Orange C heralds. Same cool placement of the two APRR trains next to each other prior to deaprture! Great job at Weehawken handing the cars from Terminal Yard over to the APRR for the trip to Rock Ridge!
