P.C.C.M. #101 On The A.P.R.R. Part 1 - Rock Ridge Yard Crews At Work!

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Penn Central Car Movement on the Atlantic Pacific Railroad - #101!! This is a three layout movement with Sir John's Amazing N.Y.C.T.L. Railroad and PC Ralph's Incredible Kings Port Division Railroad with trains departing my railroad this week and heading out to their respective incoming yards and then a week later I'll receive freight to my Rock Ridge Yard.

The sun is slowly rising over Rock Ridge Yard and we see the crew has started the engines for today's work!

The morning engine crew departs the office for their jobs...

AP GP38-2 #307 is first out of the yard. 1:87 engineer Steve and conductor Bob will take an outbound train to Morrisville, PA with non-PCCM cars for distribution to the Philadelphia area industries...

Conductor Bob is on board...

Steve starts to pick up his cars...

A few more from track 11...

Some RBL cars for Lumber 84 just outside of Morrisville in Ewing, NJ...

Looks like Bob has the rear of the train protected...

Steve is ready to depart the yard but not before he gets the final train orders from Rock Ridge Yard Tower operator 1:87 Rich T...

Steve waits for the signal...

He's got the approach and will depart Rock Ridge Yard as APRR Train RM-4 to Morrisville...

Here we go...!!

Back over in the yard, a pair of APRR MP15 engines are ready to work. 1:87 Engineer Mark is today's engineer...

Mark will pick up 3 AP & EBB 40' Hi-Cube box cars from PC Richard & Son warehouse loaded with appliances for their warehouse in Empire City...

Adjacent to PC Richard is American Hardware. They have a pair of EB box cars for Neal's Hardware in Empire City and a KP&W box car to ACCO on the KPD...

Cars are dropped on the west ladder tracks...

Same with the Hi-Cubes...

A pair of APRR RBL box cars that need to go over to Mike's Lumber to be loaded with veneer for Empire Millwork. The EL reefer will head to Consolidated Grocery Distributors with frozen food over in Empire City...

Mark makes the look so easy, yet they're executed with precision...

Mark is pulling some non-PCCM cars that need to be dropped off at Shapeless Steel. They'll go out with some other cars while that train picks up some cars that will leave Rock Ridge for both the KPD and NYCTL...

AP GP38-2 #303 with 1:87 engineer Kai will make the run with conductor Jim...

Kai needs a caboose so Jim can take care of the paperwork for the moves as well asprotecting the rear of the train...

Mark adds the caboose to the train...

Kai is ready!! Yardmaster 1:87 NJ John goes over a couple of things with him...

And he get the signal to depart the yard passing
CP Rock...

The signal holds the train....

...And new he get the signal to depart...

A short time later Kai arrives by West Harold Tower. He needs to work the secondary to get some cars from Three Amigos Warehouse, so he reaches out to tower operator Matt...

A PC box car is picked uploaded with materials for Battaglia Bros. on the KPD...

Kai will do a quick run around to add this car to the train...

And is now ready to head over to his next stop over at Shapeless Steel. Here the crew will drop off some non-PCCM gondolas and pick up a few...

Kai is ready to start his work on the secondary. Newly arrived PC gondola #524718 makes its debut after being delivered from the Patti-O Paint shop over in Empire City...

Now that is one sharp looking car glistening in the sun rays by Shapeless Steel...

EB 509823 has pipes for Hudson Valley AG on the KPD. A couple of PC gondolas for KP steel are loaded with scrap metal...

And a trio of empty EB gondolas will head to Gervais Pipe...

Next stop along the West Harold Secondary is C&P Restaurant Supply...

A couple of APRR 40' box cars will head out to Best Wholesale with restaurant supplies in Empire City...

The Swift reefer will head north to KPD's West Mill yard to be forwarded to Swift empty. The BAR reefer will head to Pilgrim State Hospital via the LIRR and EB railroads...

Those APRR RBL box cars from ShopRite along with a couple of non-PCCM cars get dropped off at Mike's Lumber. The Weyerhauser cars will get loaded as well...

Kai heads back to Rock Ridge yard...

Here we go...!

A short time later, Kai arrives back at the yard limits. NJ John clears him for the yard...

Kai checks back with Rich...

And the job is finished...!!

We'll stop here for today as the second shift yard crew will break down the inbound train and have it readied for the next days crew...

Thanks for reading!!
