P.C.C.M. #113 Part 3 On The A.P.R.R. - Outbound Freight Departs Rock Ridge Yard

Welcome back to the continuation of Penn Central Car Movement #113 on my Atlantic Pacific Railroad!

There's a number of trains that are heading out and in, so let's get right to it!!

1:87 Yardmaster NJ John gets the crew ready to build the outbound trains. One train will head out to Weehawken with freight for the Kings Port Division Railroad and the other train will have freight for the New York Central Train Layout Railroad...

1:87 Engineer Kai will handle the moves today in SW1000 #102. SW1500 #101 has 1:87 Engineer Jim C. at the ready...

An aerial view of the amount of freight that needs to head out of the yard today. Photo courtesy of the official APRR Photographer 1:87 Norman! Nice work Norman! (How he got up there is still a mystery to all of us..!)

The Penn Central Weehawken Yard sent up a pair of GP40 engines to pick up the freight for the KPD railroad. They'll bring it to Weehawken and another crew will take it up the River Line for delivery...

The PC crew heads over to CP South as the AP crew will build the train in the yard...

First cut of cars are on the West Ladder...

Second cut of cars are added to the rest of the train...

And now Penn Central Extra 3240 awaits departs from the yard...

Extra 3240 is cleared to depart...!

Next stop....Weehawken!!

The next train to go out will be for the NYCTL. A trio of Penn Central GP40's have arrived at CP Rock...

Yardmaster NJ John sends the engines to CP South so the crew can build the train...

Let's see how efficiently the APRR gets the outbound train ready....

More for the NYCTL...

Penn Central Extra 3144 is ready to depart!

Next stop....Weehawken!!

That wraps up the outbound portion of Penn Central Car Movement #113 on my railroad.

Next week we'll have the inbound portion of PCCM 113 with freight from Sir John's New York Central Train Layout, PC Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad.

Thanks for reading!!

Relations between Rock Ridge Yar and Weehawken appear very good this day as they sent five of their 3,000 HP thoroughbreds to handle the AP-PC interchange traffic!!! As always I enjoy watching your switchers handle the yard work. Norman once again provided us with a nice overview from high above Rock Ridge Yard, possibly from the AP official helicopter. We hope he got down safely and will continue to document the action in and around Rock Ridge.

The Patti-O Paint Shop managerial staff and employees appreciated seeing some of their work showcased in Extra 3144 and WR-12. The entire staff looks forward to their next contract paint job for the APRR.

An excellent way to close the APRR outbound series!!!
Thank you for the paint shop showcase!!!

In the pre-drone era I have to wonder if Norman hired a hot air balloon or has a friend in the Airforce or NASA who might have provided a jet pack! :) Great elevated view of the yard! I like the Penn Central power runs from Weehawken to Rock Ridge to pick up cars for the transfers. Nice collection of GP40s hauling those trains! Cars are on the move! West Mill and the KP&W's Williams Yard will be ready to receive them!
