New York - New Jersey Ops #1 Part 5 - The Inbound Freight Cars On The Move

Welcome back to the continuation of the inbound portion of our New York - New Jersey Ops #1. Sir John and his New York Central Train Layout sent two trains to Rock Ridge Yard. Today the crew in Rock Ridge Yard will break down and starting delivering freight to the consignees around the Rock Ridge Yard and Industrial Complex...

Kai and Jim C. have their engines ready. Together they'll service ShopRite, PC Richard & Son as well as Cargill at the Industrial Complex...

A pair of non NY-NJ cars have been emptied and will be brought over to one of the ladder tracks for their next move...

A trio of AP Box cars from Nabisco loaded with baked goods (maybe Oreo cookies?) will head over to ShopRite...

Speed Queen Appliances over in Empire City sent over a trio of cars loaded with appliances for PC Richard & Son for their NJ operations...

Kai starts to work the moves in the yard...

The 2 outbound at ShopRite are pulled...

...And Kai drops the 3 AP box cars...

Now that Kai serviced ShopRite, he can spot the 3 cars at PC Richard & Son.

Over on the West Ladder, the guys are staging the covered hoppers from the Pier 16 Silos outside of Empire City that are loaded with grain for Cargill...

Once the guys have these cars ready, JP will come over from the Industrial Complex and pick them up...

Engineer JP is ready with his classic engine...

Yardmaster NJ John get the turnouts ready so JP can come over...

JP picks up his cars and will head around the bend to Cargill...

JP drops some cars on the adjacent tracks as once the inbound cars get emptied, he'll swap them out with these cars...

JP's work is completed for today. He'll start to make the moves once these inbound cars are empty...

AP MP15's #106/107 are going to make a run over to Ideal Auto Parts and drop some cars that came from the Ford Plant in Bedford, NY to get loaded with automotive electronics and parts. Engineer Mark will take them over...

Making it's debut on the railroad is AP caboose #92 which the AP purchased from the SP Railroad...

Tower Operator Rich gives him the okay to head out as AP Train RI-5...

A short time later Mark and his conductor arrive at Ideal...

Some non-NY-NJ Op cars for the Ford Plant in Mahwah, NJ are getting pulled out so the empties can be loaded...

Mark drops the cars at Ideal...

Mark finished the moves and heads back to the yard...

The crew will drop these cars on East Ladder track 4 until the Ford Plant calls for them to be brought over...

We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow Rock Ridge Yard is expecting that inbound train from Weehawken Yard that was due today. I'm sure Yardmaster NJ John is not a happy camper, but he'll get over it.

Don't forget to check out the inbound portion of Sir John's New York Central Train Layout

    Terminal Yard out...

Once again the train moves are smooth as silk with the APRR crew wasting no time getting the NY-NJ cars and the others moving towards their intended destinations. A hearty welcome to AP caboose #92 making its virtual ops debut. That is a good looking transfer caboose that will serve the needs of the yard and transfer crews perfectly. I'm looking forward to Part 3 and the hoped for arrival of that late Penn Central Train!!!
