New York New Jersey Ops #2 Part 2 - The Outbound Work Continues

Welcome to the continuation of our New York New Jersey Ops! Our two layout virtual ops adventure continues on Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and my Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

Today we find the APRR Yard crew working to get some outbound non-virtual ops freight cars sent out and prepare to send the freight for the NYCTL...

1:87 Yardmaster NJ John tells the guys the Penn Central is sending over an engine to pick up some freight that will head to destinations in the PA area and beyond...


1:87 Engineer Kai will handle the SW1000 #102. In the background is AP SW1500 #101 which 1:87 Engineer Dan will take the seat for today's work...


The BAR reefer is empty and will be added to the train for Terminal Yard on the NYCTL. They'll hand it off to the next train heading up to New England...


The LV reefer is empty and will beheaded to the Allentown, PA yard until needed. The PC train heading out today will take that car, along with some other reefers heading to Bell & Evans, a Chicken producer. They recently landed the ShopRite account and look forward to servicing them with plenty of poultry!


The Nestle reefer will head up to Fulton, NY for more chocolate chips and more then return to Freihofers Bakeries. The Jack Frost cars will head to various factories the company operates via the Penn Central system...


Penn Central GP38-2 #3144 arrives at CP South. 1:87 Tower Operator Rich gives the crew orders for the yard...


The yard crew will pull the caboose then add the cars that will head out...


Looks like the train is ready to go...!


Dan adds the caboose to the last freight car...


...and the train departs Rock Ridge Yard via CP Rock as PC Extra 3144...


The crew awaits the signal...


Next stop, Morrisville, PA!!


We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow we'll have the crew prepare the outbound train for the NYCTL.

    Terminal Yard out...

    Nicely done Sir Neal!! Short and to the point showcasing some of our new NY-NJ traffic and old favorites like the M&E. The 18W was a nice surprise and for the record I have the first five auto racks in that consist and a Ford Plant. Hint, hint...😊 The PC GP40 did a nice job handling the the Rock Ridge to Morrisville job.

    With the yard cleared of some traffic the stage is now set for the APRR crew to work their magic and get the NY-NJ Trains moving along!!!
