Welcome back to the final moves in our NYNJ Ops #4 series. Sir John and his New York Central Train Layout have all of my inbound freight. Now we have a few more moves to wrap up our series...
AP SW1000 #102 has Norman in the seat and he starts some moves within the yard. He's going to build the outbound train that will head to the EL's Allentown, AP Yard with a number of NYNJ and non-NYNJ cars...
LV 8247 will head out to Delco in Flint, MI from Bedford Ford plant. LV 7120 will be returned to the RDG for it's next move...
The trio of PC gondolas from Gershow Recycling in Empire City will head to Bethlehem Steel for recycling...
EL U33C the 3310 has arrived to take the freight to the Allentown Yard...
Also on this train are 5 reefers headed to Bell & Evans Poultry in Fredericksburg, PA empty to pick up the next load for C&P Restaurant Supply and ShopRite...

EL Extra 3310 on the move! Next stop - Allentown, PA Yard!
EL Coal Train 2560 has arrived with a string of loaded coal hoppers for R.M.O. Electric. This is the time of the year they start to build up their supply of coal for the area...
CP Tower Operator Rich gives the EL crew instructions on how to proceed into the yard...
EL 2560 arrives on the West Ladder track and stops at CP Rock...
The AP yard crew pulls the caboose of the end of the train and adds it to the engine. They need to get this EL crew out of the yard so they can continue their work today...
EL 2560 heads out caboose lite...
Say goodbye to Rock Ridge Yard EL 2560!
EL 2560 will make a stop at the AP Richmond Hill Engine Terminal for a quick servicing before heading back to Allentown Yard...
The AP yard crew pulls the coal cars off the ladder and drops it on one of the storage tracks until the power plant is ready to receive them...
Now for some other moves. Three PC box cars that are empty from Tropicana will go over to Mike's Lumber for their next NYNJ moves...
Senior Engineer Kai will take AP GP38-2 #302 and make the moves around Rock Ridge...
Kai heads out via CP Rock; the northern end of Rock Ridge Yard...
Kai awaits the signal. He's designated as AP RFMS-11...
A short time later, Kai arrives by Freihofer's Bakeries and Mike's Lumber. He drops the cars as he needs to pull some bulkhead flat cars from Mike's. Then he can grab the NYC covered hopper that needs to go to Cargill for it's next NYNJ Ops move...
Kai pulls 4 empty bulkhead flat cars. Those will get dropped off at Shapeless Steel for its next set of NYNJ moves...
Kai gets ready to shove the 3 RBL Box cars...
Kai drops the cars at Mike's Lumber...
Yea, a little bit of a hard spot, so Kai will remember that for the next time. He's pulled the NYC covered hopper and will now shove the 4 bulkhead flat cars to Shapeless Steel...
Kai drops the cars at Shapeless Steel...
Kai starts his return to Rock Ridge Yard. However, he's being held by the Little Jamaica Tower Operator due to traffic on the main line...
Kai finally arrives at Rock Ridge Yard. Hey Rich! How come you didn't tell me about the M&E getting priority over my train! Rich told him that a call from VP of APRR operations Sir John gave all tower operators instructions to give any oil or fuel train priority on the railroad. Now that's a new one for Kai and I'm sure he'll let the other engineers know. I wonder if Yardmaster NJ John knows...?
Kai arrives and heads to the office. Probably not a happy camper after waiting for the M&E train to pass...
Norman pulls the NYC covered hopper and drops it on A/D track 'A' for it's next move to Cargill...
Meanwhile, AP SW1500 #101 with Engineer Dan drops the Morton Salt car and Hostess car at the Morton Salt plant. The Morton hopper came from Quaker Oats empty and will return to Quaker on a future NYNJ Ops. The Hostess car will sit on the Morton track until its next move...
Now that all of the moves are completed, as 1:1 Sir John always says: "PUT IT IN THE BOOKS!!"
This concludes the inbound portion of my NYNJ Ops #4. This was a great session and both Sir John and I hope all of our readers have enjoyed it! There's more virtual op sessions to come, so check back here and of course, check out Sir John's incredible Penn Central inspired New York Central Train Layout!
Thanks for reading!

Great job closing the series Sir Neal!!! The rail customers are happy and the railroads have once again made revenue to keep them going for another NY-NJ Virtual op. I am liking the Rock Ridge Allentown transfers that have added another dimension to our virtual ops. Train M&E 19 was a nice surprise even if that AP engineer didn't appreciate it.
Notice to All APRR and EBRR Trainmen
From Vice President of Railroad Operations
There will be times that you will be held for a higher priority train as set forth by management in conjunction with our overall operating procedures and long term goals. Our railroads are in business to make money and a big part of that is servicing our customers and reducing our per diem costs. In this case diesel fuel is the life blood of the railroad and the prompt return of empties to GULF will ensure that we continue to receive our fuel shipments in a timely manner. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
