P.C.C.M. #112 Part 4 On The A.P.R.R. - The Inbound Trains Arrive At Rock Ridge Yard!

Welcome back to the inbound portion of Penn Central Car Movement #112. We're continuing with our three layout movement featuring John's New York Central Train Layout and Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad along with my Atlantic Pacific Railroad...

1:87 AP Photographer Norman gives us a view of the yard. These photos help 1:87 Yardmaster NJ John
survey what needs to be done to prepare for a massive amount of trains!

Now that Norman and NJ John have a game plan, we have our first inbound train getting ready to approach Rock Ridge Yard...

West Harold Tower Operator Bill gives them the signal to start his approach to the yard...

A short time later, the PC crew arrives at the Rock Ridge Yard Limit...

Tower Operator at CP South Rich gives the crew the approach into Rock Ridge Yard via CP Rock, the northern end of the yard. Why is this important? It gives the yard crew better mobility to break down the train regardless of what ladder track they're on...

The crew powers down at CP Rock, the northern end of Rock Ridge Yard...

The PC crew cuts away from the train and moves out to CP South....

Meanwhile, 1:87 Kai and the yard crew are ready to break down this train...

Back over at West Harold Interlocking, Penn Central Extra 1675 awaits clearance to take the secondary track that leads to Rock Ridge East Yard...

Meanwhile, 1:87 Engineer Steve and his pair of M&E 425 engines will work to break down the auto parts cars that were dropped on the secondary track at West Harold...

We now turn our attention back to West Harold Interlocking as Penn Central Extra 6510 with a pair of U25C engines await the signal...

And now they can proceed...

A short time later, the crew arrives at the northern end of the yard. The crew checks in with NJ John so he can get them out quickly...

And quickly he does...!

Welcome back to the final post of my outbound portion of Penn Central Car Movement #112

Kai jumps in right away and starts assembling the outbound train for the NYCTL...

Kai is getting these cars ready to go as the PC engine crew is arriving shortly...

A few more cars need to be pulled for the outbound train...

A lot of freight cars heading to the NYCTL...!

The Penn Central train has arrived. a Trio of GP40 engines #3144/3166/3182 will haul this train to Selkirk...

Looks like they're ready to go. Well, almost...

Kai adds the caboose to the end of the train...

Now the Penn Central crew can depart...!

Now at the Rock Ridge track 2 yard Limit, they're being held. Why?

There's a manifest train coming thru the Little Jamaica Interlocking holding up outbound traffic from Rock Ridge Yard...

Now that the M&E train has cleared the interlocking, PC Extra 3144 can head out...

Final stop - Selkirk!!

And you thought NJ John and Kai forgot about those cars from Three Amigos? Not these guys!!

P.C.C.M. #112 Part 2 On The A.P.R.R.

Welcome back to the continuation of Penn Central Car Movement #112!

Today the crew is going to build the outbound train for Weehawken Yard with freight cars for the Kings Port Division Railroad and some non-PCCM cars that will go south to the Morrisville, PA yard..

1:87 Engineer Kai is back in the seat and will start his moves.

Kai starts building the outbound train. Due to the small amount of cars and since this train ends in Weehawken, Kai is pulling cars without the need for specific blocking. The KP&W cars #30112 & 30115 are the only ones going to the KP&W from the AP. Other cars at Weehawken will be added to make the Penn Central Train WV-2 to Selkirk with a stop at the KP&W Yard in West Mill...

These KP&W cars will be moved to American Hardware once the yard crew sends out both outbound trains...

We see that NYC boxcar on A/D track C. That will go on the NYCTL outbound train...

The build continues...

The Penn Central crew arrives in the yard on the west ladder. The Penn Central has trackage right on the APRR as does the AP down in Weehawken Yard...

Kai pulls the caboose so he can add the freight cars to the engines. A pair GP40 engines handle this train...

Kai adds the caboose to the back of the train destined for Weehawken...

Now the Penn Central Extra can depart!!

The signal at CP Rock is Red so they await...

The Amber signal is up and they slowly depart the yard...

The PC crew awaits the signal...

...And now departs Rock Ridge Yard on track 2...

Next stop, Weehawken Yard!!

That's all for today. Tomorrow the crew will build the outbound train for the NYCTL that makes stops at Weehawken before terminating at Selkirk Yard...

Don't forget to check the outbound portions of PCCM 112 on Sir John's NYCTL and PC Ralph's KPD Railroad
