P.C.C.M. #89 Part 2 - Here Comes The Coal! Here Comes The Coal!!

Welcome back to the inbound portion of Penn Central Car Movement #89 between Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and my Atlantic Pacific Railroad...

EB #8163 has started to work on the return of Extra #3175 from Hudson Coal and Terminal Yard on the N.Y.C.T.L. The train arrived overnight and they need to get the train ready for the AP crew to bring it to Rock Ridge Yard...

We see PC #3175 idling on Weehawken track #1. A couple tracks over are a pair of GP38-2 engines that will haul the loaded coal cars to Rock Ridge Yard....

The PC caboose is being pulled from the train..

...And the AP caboose is added...

EB #8163 is back over on the storage tracks at Weehawken that the PC and AP share...

PC #3175 has cut away from the train. Engine hostler 1:87 Scale Norman will move the engines and get the train ready to depart...

The engines are added and will head out to Rock Ridge Yard as AP train WR-1..

The crew gets the signal and 1:87 Scale Steve opens up the throttle and makes a mad dash to get out of Weehawken. Let's watch what happens...

Now thru West Harold...

AP train WR-1 checks in at South Tower with 1:87 Scale Rich for instructions into the yard...

Looks like 1:87 scale Stuart has lost his footing in the yard after being told he's going to help out in the yard with some 'maintenance' duties...

1:87 Steve pulls the Geeps on the side so the yard crew can do their thing...

AP MP15DC #107 is called to shove the coal cars to R.M.O. Electric. 1:87 Scale NJ John will make the moves...

NJ John finished the shove and heads back to the yard....

Over at R.M.O. Electric, AP SW1500 #100 once again has 1:87 Scale JP in the cab. He's a veteran on the railroad and will handle dropping the cars in the power plant...

Let's watch the moves being made...

JP hard at work as he knows the cars need to be spotted in a certain order...

The final moves are made...

And that concludes the special coal train action on both Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and my Atlantic Pacific Railroad.

Don't forget to check out the other P.C.C.M. #89 moves between Sir John's N.Y.C.T.L. and PC Ralph's K.P.D. Railroads..

Thanks for reading and enjoy the holiday season!

A fine closing installment Sir Neal!! The APRR once again efficiently moves the freight cars from Weehawken to Rock Ridge to their intended consignees!! Hope 1:87 Stuart is feeling better after breaking the consecutive days without an accident streak at Rock Ridge. What a klutz!!!

I can't get enough watching your signals operate as trains run past them or under the signal bridges! I also like what you're doing at Weehawken with photos of APRR power waiting next to PC trains, getting ready for the hand off of cars bound for Rock Ridge. Oh-oh! Time to change the "No accidents in ______ DAYS" sign at Rock Ridge Yard! Except for that minor accident, nice job concluding the annual Holiday unit train coal ops this year!

  3. Wow! WR 1 was bookin' that coal. Maybe a little Holiday Cheer waiting by the power plant? Makes me wonder if 'ol Stu lost his footing or found a little early Holiday Cheer himself. Thankfully 1/87 scale peeps don't bruise and I'm sure the 'big fingers from the sky' got him back on his feet! Thank you for a fun read and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and yours.
