The A.P.R.R. railroad has been busy over the winter doing maintenance and currently working on upgrades to enhance the operations of the railroad, hence missing some train movements. Rest assured, the management made sure that all customers were served by other modes of transportation during the downtime.
So let's get started at the center of the action - Rock Ridge Yard!
The crew is gathered to discuss what freight needs to be picked up at various locations.
Shapeless Steel has KP&W Box car 15638 that will head to Port Owen Brick Co. on the KPD railroad with steel bands. A couple of non-PCCM Bethlehem gondolas with steel loads will be brought over to the yard for another customer.
Over at Cargill, a trio of PC covered hoppers will head over to Hostess with bleached flour and a pair of Empire Belt RR covered hoppers will be dropped off at Ronzoni. Both industries are located on the NYCTL Railroad.
Three PC RBL box cars loaded with Tropicana Juice products are destined for Ralph's Grocery on the NYCTL.
C&P Restaurant Supply has been busy loading up 6 reefer cars for Nassau Community College with prepared foods. 1:1 Sir Neal now remembers why he never ate at their cafeteria. Enough said...
EB 358160 will be moved from Mike's lumber to C&P for a future PCCM.
A trio of empty 40' Hi-Cube box cars will head to Peerless Appliances via the KPD as PC Richard finally unloaded all of those appliances that sold out over the holidays...
Ideal Auto Parts has three 86' auto parts cars loaded with exclusive Ford Motors parts for cars. They will head to the Ford Plant via Terminal Yard on the NYCTL.
ShopRite is both a distributor and end user of food and food products. Today we have an EL box car that has packaged foods for Consolidated Grocery Distributors in Empire City.
Cavendish Foods on the KPD has requested another load of salt from Morton Salt. This load is ready to go!
Meanwhile, EB 8163 with 1:87 Norman in the seat, has brought over 4 PS-2 covered hoppers from the Richmond Hill Engine Terminal to be loaded up with sand over at T&R Gravel in Empire City. He needs to tie down for the night as there is other movement at Rock Ridge East Yard...
It looks like the engines are approaching West Harold Interlocking. AP 303 with 1:87 Engineer Jim will head to Ideal Auto Parts and Mike's Lumber to pick up the outbound freight. AP 307 with 1:87 Engineer Kai will pick up freight from Shapeless Steel and C&P Restaurant Supply.
AP 307 holds as AP 303 will head out first...
AP 303 first stop - Ideal Auto Parts
Next stop; Mike's Lumber...
Jim has the freight and heads to Rock Ridge Yard...
Jim's on the way to Rock Ridge Yard
Kai has arrived over at Shapeless Steel and will start to work his pickups of the day..
Next is C&P Restaurant Supply...
Kai checks in with Little Jamaica Tower Operator Bob for permission to take the main and get routed to the yard...
Jim is over by West Harold awaiting the signal to head to Rock Ridge yard. Some local traffic ahead has him waiting...
Kai's now at Little Jamaica. And he waits...
Kai waits while Jim brings his train to the yard...
Jim is at CP South.. He'll head to the yard. Kai has timed out for the day and his train is tied down. Tomorrow is another day...
We'll cut it here today. Tomorrow the freight will get sorted and blocked to head out for the KPD Railroad and the NYCTL Railroad as well as some new customers for the APRR!

Nice work Sir Neal!!! First let me compliment you on the excellent photo documentation of the PCCM freight cars at their respective shippers industries prior to pick up. As PC Ralph once said " I like how my trains look on your layout!" I really enjoyed the crisp photos and captions as well as the videos. This was an excellent PCCM blog post. Its great to see you haven't lost your touch and it's really great to have you back in the saddle for PCCM 99. The Bethlehem Steel gondolas look real good. Welcome back and nice work!!!

Welcome back Neal and the APRR! Its a pleasure to have you both participating again in the PCCMs! Nice photo documentation of today's action. I especially like the shot of 303 and 307 under the signal bridge. I also think the three Hi Cubes look pretty good traveling together in front of PC Richard! Looking forward to more preparations at Rock Ridge for the dispatch of trains for the Kings Port Division and the N.Y.C.T.L.!
