Welcome back to Part 3 of P.C.C.M. #99 on the A.P.R.R.! Today the Rock Ridge Yard Crew assembles the train that will depart Rock Ridge Yard. This train will head thru Weehawken, up to West Mill where it will drop off cars for the K.P.D. and then head to Selkirk where the crew will hand off the rest of the freight for the N.Y.C.T.L.
(Note: Due to technical difficulties beyond my control, some images did not make it into this part. We apologize to those who monitor every car in this series).
Today 1:87 Scale Matt and 1:87 Scale Dan will build the outbound train...
Dan begins his part..
Those auto racks get blocked together..
There are 27 freight cars heading out and the guys work this with precision. They waste no time hanging out. The sooner they're finished, they go the diner!
A view of the yard and that outbound train. You can see on the end of the train the block of cars for the K.P.D.
The Penn Central crew is waiting at the yard limit. On the head is PC SD35 #6031 with GP 40's #3141 and #3111 behind it..
The last set of cars over at Rock Ridge East Yard are picked up by Dan and added to the train..
Last car to be added to the train? The caboose!
EB #8163 brought it to Rock Ridge as it's been serviced by the APRR. 1:87 scale Norman drops it off...
Dan adds it to the rest of the train..
The caboose is added and this train is ready to head out!
Now that the PC crew has the entire train, they will head out. Designated as PC train WV-2...
Check back next week for the inbound portion of P.C.C.M. #99 on the A.P.R.R.!
Thanks for reading!

Terminal Yard out...
An excellent job closing out your outbound posts!!! I really like the power choices on WV-2!! Seldom have railfans been treated to a three units lash up like the one today on the APRR and I'm glad that the cameras recorded this event. The long train of PCCM freight cars that necessitated the need for 8,500 HP was very impressive!! Terminal Yard is standing by to receive the PCCM freight cars headed my way.

The 27 freight cars required a lot of forwarding moves and planning! Nice work Rock Ridge getting the job done! Despite technical difficulties the story is thoroughly told: cars from Rock Ridge are on their way to the KPD and the N.Y.C.T.L.! I agree that the three unit consist was impressive heading out of town!
