P.C.C.M. #99 Part 5 On The A.P.R.R. - The Local Freight Train Build Begins!

Welcome back to the continuation of the inboundportion of Penn Central Car Movement #99 On my railroad!

We left off with the crew spotting both trains in the yard. Today we watch the crew build trains for local deliveries.

A local train will be blocked for Ideal Auto Parts, Marcal Paper and Freihofer Bakeries. Another local train will be assembled for Shapeless Steel and C&P Restaurant Supply.

Today in AP MP15 #105 is 1:87 Scale Jim who will work building the local trains...

...And in the pair of MP15's will be 1:87 Scale Mark...

The pair of EB Gondolas from Gervais Pipe go to Shapeless Steel...

They get added to the block of cars headed to C&P Restaurant Supply...

Rock Ridge Yard in action!!

A total of 12 freight cars will be delivered. Some may remain back at the yard, as the industry has a limit of 8-10 cars...

A couple of non-PCCM box cars are being moved as they will head out on another outbound train..

The EB Box car will be part of the move to C&P Restaurant Supply...

Let's watch some more moves in the yard...

The APRR box car will go over to C&P Restaurant Supply...

Check this out...!

The locals are all blocked and ready to head out when the crews are called..

The LV Box car on the left will head over to Freihofers Bakeries and LV 7120 will get dropped off at C&P Restaurant Supply...

Marcal Paper has a pair of AP Box cars coming in from Moore & Co with bulk paper...

NAHX 90404 Corning will head out on another train to the Morrisville yard for delivery to Pennsylvania Glass & Sand...

The KP&W sent some freight for ShopRite from Woodland Hills Natural Soda... and right behind those cars a couple of APRR RBL Box cars from Van Winkle Canning for ShopRite. Let's hope the ShopRite warehouse has the crew to unload these cars quickly!!

Jim is making some more moves in the yard...

So is Mark.. moving cars to get them blocked is what the APRR Yard crew excels at!!

The Hostess coverd hopper will get dropped at Cargill once the locals get out of the yard..

Mark is getting these cars blocked!

The yard moves never stop!

The last of the freight cars are blocked...

No car is left untouched by the APRR yard crew...!

We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow we'll see the locals start to head out...

Make sure you check the inbound freight moves happening on

    Terminal Yard out...

I'm always amazed at the well done choreography of the AP yard crews in breaking down and building trains and today was no exception. I really enjoy seeing the MP15s scurrying thru the yard and taking care of business quickly, efficiently and without colliding into each other or other trains. You have set the stage perfectly for your next post and I look forward to catching all the upcoming action. Well done Sir Neal!!

Acknowledge the work of AP locomotives 105, 106, and 107 at Rock Ridge.

    West Mill out.

Rock Ridge is keeping things moving in a well organized fashion! I appreciated the narration on the videos, making them seem like railfan DVDs! With all of the cars being sorted and blocked its not surprising that the occasional error might occur. EB #360279 gets taken care of however, after some angst and agitation from the Rock Ridge Yardmaster. He might wish to give West Mill's Cappy Foster a call so they can commiserate over some Schaefers or perhaps a bottle of Cavendish Scotch!
