P.C.C.M. #102 Part 1 On The A.P.R.R. - Picking Up Freight For Rock Ridge Yard

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movement - #102!! We have another 3 layout move featuring Sir John's amazing New York Central Layout and PC Ralph's Incredible Kings Port Division railroads.

It's a very busy time of the year, and freight loads are larger than normal...

ShopRite Warehouse serves not only their own stores, but other stores in the region. The NPM reefer will go to Consolidated Groceries over in Empire City on the NYCTL...

A lone APRR coal hopper will head back to Hedberg Aggragates on the KPD for more coal. With winter arriving, you can never have enough coal...

Tropicana reefer loaded with juice products from the Tropicana plant in Rock Ridge will head to Ralph's Grocery on the NYCTL...

AP #100 with Engineer JP heads out and will pick up the coal hopper and reefer then run them over to the yard. From there, they'll be blocked for their appropriate destination...

JP awaits orders from the tower...

A quick move to get on the yard lead...

...And the cars are dropped in the yard...

JP has dropped the cars, and now heads back to the industrial area...

Meanwhile AP MP15 #105 heads out as train RE-3 to pick up some freight cars from Ideal Auto Parts and Freihofers Bakeries. Engineer Kai is in the cab with brakeman Jim...

First stop is over at Fereihofer. An empty covered hopper will go back to the yard and the crew will shuffle it over to Cargill for reloading for their next destination. The HRC box car will head over to Ralph's Grocery with baked goods including Freihofers Chocolate Chip Cookies!!

A short distance away over at Ideal Auto Parts, 3 box cars will head to the Ford Plant Co. in Somerville, MA. via the KPD...

Kai awaits at LJ tower for instructions before heading back to the yard...

Train RE-3 heading to Rock Ridge Yard...

Kai stops at SI tower for instructions in to the yard....

Kai arrives and the yard crew will work the train. classifying to head out in the next two days...

The yard crew consisting of Dan and Norman will work the cars...

Cars for the NYCTL get spotted on track 'B' while KPD cars get spotted on track 'C'...

AP train RN-5 will head out to C&P Restaurant Supply to pick up 8 reefers and box cars. 7 cars will head to Nassau Community College on the NYCTL and the PC Box Car will head to Cavendish Foods on the KPD. Engineer Matt and brakeman Mark Head out...

They await the signal at CP Rock...

...And off they go...!

Another signal from LJ Tower...

And they head out to the North Side of Rock Ridge....

Now over at C&P Restuarant Supply, the crew works the job. (Note they're picking up 8 cars not 7 as the video states...UGH!)

The crew has the cars and await for the signal at WH tower to head back to the yard...

The signal is set and they can head east to the yard...

They're on yard lead track 2 and will get crossed over by the SI tower into the yard...

Matt and Mark arrive back at the yard. The second shift yard crew will take care of these inbound cars

We'll cut it here for today. Tomorrow the crew will work to classify freight for the outbound train....

Thanks for reading!

And we're off!!! Great to start to PCCM 102!!! I liked the narration in the videos. It's been a long time since I've seen the APRR in action and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Nice to see the WFE reefers making their PCCM debut and the four car block of TP&W boxcars returning to virtual ops action. Once again the AP crews did a good job and looked good doing it!!! Nice work Sir Neal!!!
