P.C.C.M. #102 Part 5 - Getting Freight Out Of The Yard To Consignees

Welcome back to the continuation of Penn Central Car Movement #102 on the Atlantic Pacific Railroad. Today the crew will send out the local train to serve Ideal Auto Parts, Marcal and Mike's Lumber. In addition, the Rock Ridge Industrial Complex will send over an engine to pick up a car that was brought over from Freihofer and pick the Hostess car for refilling...

Norman in AP#105 will pull the cars for Cargill and hand them off to Engineer JP in AP#100 to make the deliveries...

JP has arrived and will pick up the 2 cars for Cargill...

He slowly works his way on to the Rick Ridge Industrial Complex secondary...

JP spots the cars on Cargill Track 1...

JP is done with the move and the AP fuel tanker truck has arrived to refuel the engine...

Now Dan and Matt will spot the Morton Salt car...

Here we go...

The next car to be spotted at Morton is the PC Box Car...

PC 142770 gets dropped off on the adjacent east ladder track 12 next to the Morton Salt Plant...

Matt and Dan now work on the train that will head out to the east side of Rock Ridge...

The EB Box Cars will head over to Marcal...

Can't forget about the car for Mike's Lumber!

No train is complete without a caboose (most of the time...)!

AP GP38-2 #303 with Kai in the cab and Jim as his brakeman prepare to leave Rock Ridge Yard...

Kai heads out as AP train RE-4...

A quick roll by SI Tower...

Kai awaits the signal to depart...

...and off he goes...!

AP Train RE-4 passing thru Little Jamaica Interlocking...

Back over in the yard, the crew works on a non-PCCM train that is picking up freight for the Penn Central Morrisville, PA Yard...

Penn Central GP35 #2370 has arrived in the yard from Weehawken to pick up the freight...

A caboose is added...

And this train will get ready to depart...

PC Train RM-3 heading thru Little Jamaica....

Kai has arrived by Ideal and will start to work the industries...

Kai spots the three Auto Parts Cars from Ford on the Ideal Track...

Next on the line is Marcal and Mike's Lumber. He gets orders for LJ tower operator Bob as some cars need to be picked up and brought back to the yard...

A couple of reefers have to be moved as well...

The PA box cars will be brought back to Rock Ridge Yard...

The cars are pulled and Kai will do a run around to spot the cars...

The move is made and the final car gets dropped at Mike's Lumber...

Kai picks up the caboose, then the cars going to the yard...

Kai has the cars and awaits routing off the LJ secondary to head back to the yard...

Kai heads to the yard as his work is finished....

Kai checks in for routing to the yard....

Matt and Dan pull the 2 cars off Kai's train...

Kai ties down for the day...

Matt and Dan classify the box cars...

And the work is finished...

We'll stop here for today. Tomorrow the crew will deliver the freight to Shapeless Steel and C&P Restaurant Supply on the north side of Rock Ridge...

Don't forget to check out to see the freight cars I sent to both John's N.Y.C.T.L. Railroad and Ralph's Kings Port & Western Railroad.

Thanks for reading!!

    Terminal Yard out!!

The AP crews continue to shine!!!! Nice work moving the virtual ops tonnage and the non PCCM cars in and out of the busy and complex Rock Ridge Yard and the surrounding area. The refueling of AP100 was a nice move and I liked see AP caboose #79, a Patti O Paint Shop product, on the rear of RE-4. PC GP35 #2370 was perfect for the transfer run to Weehawken and beyond. Another fine installment Sir Neal!!!
