P.C.C.M. #100 Part 4 On The A.P.R.R. - Sir John's New York Central Train Layout Outbound Train Departs Rock Ridge

Welcome back to the final outbound installment of Penn Central Car Movement #101 on the Atlantic Pacific Railroad!

Today the crew will build the outbound train that will head north to Selkirk and then on to Terminal Yard on Sir Johns's NYCTL.

AP MP15 engines #106/107 are the workhorse for Rock Ridge Yard. AP #105 is at the engine terminal with some maintenance issues, so 1:87 Sir Neal went out and leased an SW1500 engine to assist the yard crew. That engine should be arriving next week. In the interim, AP GP38-2 #303 is at the ready...

Today 1:87 Engineer Kai is working the MP15 engines and 1:87 Brakeman Jim will handle the yard duties...

The Morton Salt covered hopper will head over to Ronzoni in Long Island City...

...And gets added to the outbound track..

The AP 40' box cars from C&P Restaurant Supply will head to Best Wholesale...

Those sharp looking 40' Hi-Cube Box cars will head over to the LI warehouse of PC Richard & Son...

A string of box cars to Pilgrim State are added to the outbound build...

The white AP box cars from Mike's lumber head to Empire Millwork...

Box cars to Neal's Lumber & Hardware from American Hardware with plumbing supplies...

The EL reefer from ShopRite to Consolidated Grocery Distributors

The gondolas from Shapeless Steel to Gervais Pipe...

Another reefer for Pilgrim State. Looks like the crew has the outbound cars ready...

Over at the Rock Ridge yard limit on track 2 is a consist of Penn Central F7 A/B/A will take the outbound train up to Selkirk where it will be picked up by the crew for Terminal Yard...

We see that engines hook up to the Hostess hopper. 1:87 NJ John is watching the hook up...

More cars are added to the train....

The train is on both outbound tracks to make it easy for the yard crew to build the train...

EB 8163 drops off the Penn Central caboose for Kai to add to the end of the train....

They bring it in to the yard...

Now AP #303 with Dan in the seat will assist Kai to get this train out of town...

Dan drops the caboose, and runs into the Richmond Hill crew. 1:87 Norman and Dan exchange pleasantries...

Dan heads back to the yard....

The Rock Ridge Yard crew wraps up their job and parks their engines...

Now NJ John will walk the train for one last inspection...

Ready to depart as PC Extra 1650 has the signal...

Let's check out Extra 1650 but not before an AP inbound train heads to Rock Ridge...

Now that both outbound and inbound trains are cleared, Norman and EB 8163 can head back to Richmond Hill Engine Terminal.

Here he goes...!

That concludes the outbound portion of Penn Central Car Movement #101 on the APRR.
