Welcome to the Penn Central Car Movement on the Atlantic Pacific Railroad! This is P.C.C.M. #110 and a three layout virtual operation with Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division & K.P.D Railroad along with my railroad!
We start the day at Rock Ridge Yard. AP SW-1 #110 will start out making some moves within Rock Ridge Yard and the industrial area. Engineer Kai and conductor Jim will handle the moves. NJ John, Rock Ridge Yard's senior yardmaster, will make sure the moves happen in a timely manner...
AP #106/107, the MP15's will work the yard as needed. Engineers Dan and Matt will handle those duties. They'l work as train RR-2...
Kai and Jim head over to ShopRite to pick up 3 reefers headed to Ralph's Grocery along with a pair of 40' box cars for Consolidated Grocery that will go to the NYCTL...
The PC reefer will gead over to Marcal. The LV box car will head to Selkirk yard and on to Frontier Yard in Buffalo, NY via the KPD...
Kai has the cars pulled and will get them set for the outbound build...
A little shuffling around of the cars aa the crew works to keep the cars blocked as best as possible...
Over at Cargill, Engineer JP on AP #100, his SW1500 pulls the NYC covered hopper full of wheat flour heat will head to Blue Ribbon Flour via the KPD...
Next stop is neighboring RMO Electric with 6 empty coal hoppers that will head out to the KP&W Mayfield Yard for more coal. The cars will be held there as the KP&W send them to various coal plants for loading on the KPD network. It all depends on pricing...!
JP runs the freight cars over to Rock Ridge Yard...
Kai and Jim block the cars on outbound track "C" which is designated for KPD freight cars...
Kai and Jim continue to move cars around the yard. Seems the yard is getting full...
There were four empty KP&W cars in Rock Ridge Yard that were waiting to go head out. A pair will go to Quality Fabrications and the other pair will go to Peerless Appliances...
A trio of PC & NYC 40' Hi Cube box cars will head over to Peerless Appliances for the KPD...
A few more moves as Kai checks in with tower operator Rich...
A few non-PCCM cars are getting moved around...
Meanwhile, over at Rock Ridge East Yard, Engineer Steve and his sidekick Bob have 6 PS-2 covered hoppers from County Concrete that will head to Tri Mount Cement via the KPD. The crew always uses the pair of Alco C425 engines for moves to and from Rock Ridge East Yard. I bet I know an engineer on the NYCTL that would love to get a ride in these babies...!!
Another look at Rock Ridge east yard shows some of the 60' auto parts box cars that have made their way back from the Ford Plant in Kentucky...
Steve checks in for routing to Rock Ridge Yard. The West Harold tower operator sends them out...
Steve shoves the cars on to outbound track "D" which is designated for freight going to the KPD...
The move is completed and they'll head back to their yard...
That's all for today. Tomorrow we'll see the crew pick up freight from the rest of the industries outside of Rock Ridge Yard.
Thanks for reading!!

Another fine start to a PCCM series Sir Neal!!! The industrial might of Rock Ridge, New Jersey was on full display today with numerous train moves to get all of the PCCM traffic heading in the right direction. As usual the APRR crew did a fine job handling the complex switching tasks. Well done!!!!

I started tallying up in my head.."there's a car for the KPD, there's another!.." as I followed the switching moves at Rock Ridge. An unusually high number of cars is being sent from Rock Ridge to West Mill and Williams Yard this time1 Business is good! I always enjoy Rock Ridge's team of switchers heading in various directions to pick up cars! The appearance of the M&E is always a treat too! I noted the newly expanded ShopRite!
