Welcome to Penn Central Car Movement #111!!!

The action starts in Rock Ridge Yard. 1:87 Engineer Dan on AP SW1500 #100 is ready for today's work...

Here's what's in store for 1:87 Yardmaster NJ John and his crew...

NJ John has sent out 1:87 Engineer Mark out for road job RE-4. This job will pick up freight from the industries surrounding Rock Ridge. Stops today include:

Ideal Auto Parts & Electronics
Marcal
C&P Restaurant Supply
Shapeless Steel

Mark is at CP South and 1:87 Tower Operator Rich gives him orders to head out...

Mark is on his way...

First stop is Ideal Auto Parts. The 4 60' Auto Parts Box Cars are for the Ford Plant outside Empire City on the NYCTL...

Next stop is over at Mike's Lumber...

Over at Mike's Lumber, a pair of AP box cars are for Empire Millwork on the NYCTL. The third box car is going back to the yard empty for its next assignment...

Next stop is over at Marcal. The EB Box car will head over to Ralph's Grocery on the NYCTL. The non-PCCM car will head over to the yard for its next assignment...

The crew did a run around to gather the cars at Marcal...

Next stop is C&P Restaurant Supply. The HRC 50' Box Car, made for our dear departed friend Ed, has perishable foods for Van Winkle Canning on the KPD. The non-PCCM Penn Central car will head over to ShopRite...

Next and final pickup for Mark and his crew are at Shapeless Steel. The KP&W box car has steel banding for Port Owen Brick on the KPD. The gondola with piping will head over to the yard and then on to Allied Steel in Elizabeth, NJ...

Mark sets up the freight cars and will head back to Rock Ridge Yard...

Well, not so fast. One more move to get back to the yard...

Now Mark is set to head out!!

Mark and his train are at the yard limit. He's holding as an outbound train is getting ready to depart the yard...

Penn Central Extra 7139, a GP 7 with PC GP40 3175 are making a run over to the Ford Plant in Mahwah, NJ with some auto parts box cars from an earlier move...

Penn Central Extra 7139 on the move!!!

Penn Central Extra 7139 passing thru West Harold and on to the Ford Plant in Mahwah, NJ...

Now that Extra 7139 has cleared, RE-4 gets back into the yard...

Dan can start working RE-4...

There are 3 arrival/departure tracks (A/D tracks) that will handle the inbound freight. These tracks will be for both NYCTL and KPD freight. The NYCTL will be set off on A/D track 'A & B' and the KPD freight will go on track 'C'...

The non-PCCM cars will get dropped on the open west ladder tracks...

Dan still hard at work...

Meanwhile, Mark has his caboose and can head over to the engine terminal for servicing...

Mark and AP #307 caboose lite pass thru Little Jamaica Interlocking on his way to the Richmond Hill Engine Terminal...

We'll stop it here for today. Tomorrow the APRR crew will get the freight within Rock Ridge Yard and blocked for both NYCTL and KPD railroads.

Don't forget to check out the outbound moves on Sir John's New York Central Train Layout and PC Ralph's Kings Port Division Railroad

I liked the opening commentary on the video! The photo of the nearly full yard tipped us off that there was a lot of work to do at Rock Ridge! Nice work gathering all of the PCCM cars and managing some non PCCM moves as well. The PC Extra was a nice addition to the operations. Great weathering on the AP 3582 gon!
